17. Together In Electric Dreams – Human League (Club Mix Long)

1st, we start off this Retro mix with easy listening and slow dance tracks for introduction of the routine, starting off with 102 BPM. This easy listening soul beats introduction will last for the 1st 25 minutes or so… Alphaville’s “Big In Japan” is still one of the most popular songs from the 80’s electronic dance music era which was classified as “New Wave”.

Fading Away Vocal Mix with “Once In A Lifetime” by Gregorian, this classic soul beats track surely bring all the ladies onto the dancefloor, not only for the soul beats style but for the meaningful lyrics as well. Back to back with another “girl’s” luring track, “Dying Inside To Hold You” by Timmy Thomas keeping the ladies on the dance floor, and let the guys fill up the rest of the empty spaces…

Fading Away Vocal Mix with “Paid In Full” was just my own personal preference that this is good mix from the 80’s and for educational purposes for it marked the rise of Hip Hop… HIP HOP MANIA!!! All the Scratching, Sampling and Mixing of Vocals were intentional, some might find it irritating, but I must stress this was a classic Hip Hop track with a soul beats touch! “Stars” by Simply Red, the rhythm of the whole routine still maintain at slow and casual dance with no real climax yet. Throwing in the “Remember Me” by Blue Boy marks soon arising climax as the BPM slowly adjusted to go higher, the best range of dance BPM starts at 105-110BPM for Retro.

Most of the MOST happening songs of Retro starts around 110BPM, and beware for the following higher energy tracks…
They just rock man!!! JAMMIN!!! “Shout” marks the climax of the routine and tune up to the pureness of Retro Electro Dance of 80’s, followed by the best of electronic dance with BIG names like: EMF, C&C Factory, Cameo, Depeche Mode, Camouflage and Information Society!!!

Depeche Mode’s “Strange Love” back to back with Camouflage’s “Great Commandment” is the most classic mixes of all times! You hear this mix in clubs all the time!!! The song “Crash” by Gwen Stefani was mixed in due to it’s music elements and mixing condition was superbly compatible for “What’s On Your Mind”…. Followed by the next mix will be “Push It” by Salt & Peppa, this is a brand new try out and also the best of mix in this whole routine…

This Retro routine started off with “slomo” BPMs at 102BPM and finished up with a high energy dance 130BPM. Lastly, I wrap up the routine with “Electric Dreams”, another infamous classic Retro tune for dance in clubs!!!!

For this mix, the louder you play, the better it sounds, if you have woofered sound system, even better!!!

“Like A Prayer by Madonna is one of my favorite tracks, so I put it as an intro, this retro mix was produced in 1998 as a 45 minutes set, now re-mastered mix with additional songs added to hold up to a 71 minutes.

Pet’s Shop Boys’ “Opportunities” marks the climax of the routine, due to it’s high energy pumping beats and rhythm. From then on, the rest of the energy kept pumping from all the nice old Retro dances that you commonly hear in clubs. Track 05 & 06’s Cross-fader Trick Beat Bar Mixes were created originally by me in 1997, and many other local club DJs followed this style after they heard from my trademark mix.

Mambo Jambo starts at Track 13. where music from the more recent era took over and slowly I move back to the 80’s with great old rock song “You Give Love A Bad Name!” Mambo Jambo!
